Microsoft has confirmed that the Outlook Classic email client has encountered a bug: it crashes when trying to open more than 60 emails at once. The problem does not depend on how powerful the computer is.
The company indicated that when an error occurs, the program may show one of two messages:
Messages indicate a lack of system resources, even when there is no actual shortage of them. As a temporary solution, Microsoft suggests changing the system registry parameter USERProcessHandleQuota from the default decimal value of 10,000 to 18,000. But this measure may cause unstable operation of the entire system due to the additional load on it. Therefore, as a more realistic option, the company suggests that users not open more than 60 emails at once until the Outlook developers fix the problem. Microsoft did not specify a time frame.
