Delta Electronics has introduced the ADP-240KB charger, which supports USB Type-C Power Delivery (USB-PD) charging up to 240 W. The device is advertised as an AC adapter and is a rectangular product with a standard three-pin connector (AC cord not included). But this is actually the first charger on the market to support 240W USB Type-C charging on the market.
Delta Electronics is not very well known in the consumer electronics market, but the company often acts as a manufacturer of laptop chargers, for example, Dell and Lenovo. Now Delta has introduced a USB-PD charger that is suitable for powering any compatible devices, such as modern laptops. At the moment, you can purchase the ADP-240KB adapter in the USA for $126.37 excluding shipping.
Last year, a representative of the laptop manufacturing company Framework announced the imminent appearance of powerful USB-PD 3.1 adapters on the market. Note that the Framework Laptop 16 charger supports up to 180 W, and the Apple MacBook Pro supports up to 140 W when using a MagSafe cable.
