The gaming brand IRDM of the Polish manufacturer of RAM and solid-state drives Wilk Electronik SA, better known under the Goodram brand, introduced a series of solid-state drives IRDM PRO GEN 5 SSD. The series includes models of NVMe drives with a capacity of 1, 2 and 4 TB.
The manufacturer claims to use 3D TLC NAND flash memory and a Phison PS5026-E26 controller in IRDM PRO GEN 5 drives. For a 1 TB drive, sequential read and write speeds are specified at 11,500 and 9,500 MB/s, and for 2 and 4 TB models – 12,000 and 11,000 MB/s, respectively.
Random read and write performance for the 1 TB model is 1.3 million and 1.4 million IOPS. For 2 and 4 TB models, 1.4 million IOPS are stated in both cases.
The rewriting resource for a 1 TB model is 700 TBW (terabyte of overwritten information), for 2 and 4 TB models it is 1400 and 3000 TBW, respectively. All drives are equipped with thin double-layer graphene heatsinks. The manufacturer claims that this material is 20 times more efficient than aluminum in terms of heat dissipation.
The presented IRDM PRO GEN 5 drives are provided with a five-year manufacturer’s warranty. The company did not disclose the cost of the new products.
