Last week, the South Korean company Samsung introduced its thinnest foldable smartphone, the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition. The new product went on sale last weekend, and the entire lot was sold out in just 10 minutes.
According to the source, sales of the Galaxy Z Fold SE began seven hours later than planned because Samsung needed more time to “estimate production volume and decide on the number of devices” that will be released to the market. The demand was so high that retailers and telecom operators did not even receive the smartphone due to “insufficient stock.” However, Samsung did not reveal how large the first batch of Galaxy Fold SE was.
It is known that Samsung has no plans to sell the Galaxy Z Fold SE globally, but it will likely hit the Chinese market as the Samsung W25 with an exclusive black and gold design and will be launched in partnership with China Telecom. There is no word yet on the availability of the device in the markets of other countries.
As for the Galaxy Z Fold SE itself, today the smartphone is the thinnest and lightest device in the line. Compared to the Galaxy Z Fold6, the new product received a larger display, more RAM and a 200-megapixel camera. In the South Korean market, the price of the smartphone was about $2000.
