The radically updated Vivaldi 7.0 was released – the browser received a redesigned interface, a widget panel on the start page, convenient tools for managing news feeds and email, the ability to watch YouTube videos without advertising and many smaller innovations.
Vivaldi 7.0 debuted a new interface. The browser retained all existing features, but its appearance became “lighter, more stylish and pleasing to the eye,” the shapes of elements changed, and new icons appeared. At the same time, the service elements have become somewhat larger, so those who want to return to the previous design can select a compact interface type in the settings. Bookmarks in the “express panel” are distributed into groups by default, which helps relieve the load on the browser’s start screen.
The main innovation on the Vivaldi 7.0 start screen is widgets – a “personal information center”, where all the relevant information is collected: date and time, informers, news, calendar events and even personal notes. The news feed section has been redesigned – sources can be grouped by topic to quickly find what you need. Here you can add subscriptions to YouTube and watch videos directly from the news section in full screen mode, unpinned and without advertising. The email client now has a pop-up button for quickly jumping to recent emails – this will help you avoid getting buried in the correspondence archive. It is now possible to quickly switch between the “Reply” and “Reply all” modes.
The synchronization mechanism has been improved. Previously, it worked with some delay, but with the release of Vivaldi 7.0, synchronization occurs almost in real time – this applies to notes, bookmarks and settings. For now, the innovation only works in the desktop version of the browser, and it will reach the mobile version a little later. Sidebar elements are also synchronized – if you add new ones in one browser, they will appear in the list of web panels (Windows tab) in another.
