At the opening ceremony of the thematic exhibition Unreal Fest 2024, Amazon Studios presented a teaser trailer for the Secret Level anthology. The new show should start airing in December 2024.
The production is handled by the Blur studio, which had a hand in the provocative animated series “Love. Death. Robots” (Love, Death & Robots). The first season will include 15 episodes, referencing different video game franchises.
The video published on the official YouTube channel of Unreal Engine is dedicated to the shooter Unreal Tournament, released in 1999. The description below the trailer states that the footage is “a modern interpretation of the project’s opening sequence using the latest animation capabilities of Unreal Engine 5.”
YouTube users greeted the trailer for the Secret Level anthology with delight. The authors of numerous comments talked about their favorite parts of Unreal Tournament, also complaining about Epic Games’ reluctance to breathe life into the once popular series of games.
«We really need a remake of Unreal Tournament. This is real torture,” wrote someone KotchcusDomesticus.
«Wow, this makes me want to go buy and play UT99,” admitted MadmanEpic.
«Please bring back Unreal Tournament. We need a classic arena shooter to break the monotony of these modern shooters!” – said someone Isaacfess.
The first season of the anthology Secret Level, dedicated to various video game franchises, will debut on December 10 on Amazon Prime.
