Free game giveaways coming soon to the mobile version of the Epic Games Store

One of the main features of the Epic Games Store is a program that gives away free games every week. Now it has become known that before the end of this year, a similar initiative will begin to operate in the recently launched mobile version of EGS.

The head of the Epic Games Store, Steve Allison, spoke about this at the Unreal Fest festival in Seattle. He also said that by the end of the year the number of games from third-party developers in the store for mobile devices will increase to 50 units. One of these will be Ark: Ultimate Mobile Edition, which was presented at the mentioned event. Epic Games also plans to integrate cross-platform and social functions.

«We’ll be making our first third-party apps available over the holiday period. We expect there will be between 10 and 50 of them, and the most important thing is the implementation of the payment solution, so some of them may appear in the coming months,” Ellison said.

The EGS executive also hinted that there will be some more “amazing things” coming to the store for both users and developers, which will help the platform expand quickly. There will be a mechanism for developers to allow them to self-publish games without any interaction with Epic. It is expected that such an opportunity will appear in the first half of next year.
