Tecno announces foldable smartphones Phantom V Fold2 5G and Phantom V Flip2 5G

Tecno introduced a new generation of foldable smartphones – the Phantom V Fold2 5G and Phantom V Flip2 5G models, which received a set of new AI features, as well as a multifunctional Phantom V Pen stylus for working on a large screen. The new products also received a powerful filling, which is combined with very thin bodies with an elegant design.

The Phantom V Fold2 5G smartphone features a 6.42-inch FHD+ external display that is slightly curved on one side for easier one-handed use. The aspect ratio is 21:9. Support for PWM backlight brightness adjustment at a frequency of 2160 Hz is also announced, which, together with TÜV certification, guarantees minimal eye strain. Durable Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 provides scratch protection.

The 7.85-inch 2K+ main flexible screen supports V Pen input. The screen is protected from damage by flexible SCHOTT UTG glass and a special film that is part of the display. Each screen has a front-facing 32-megapixel camera.

The main camera includes a 50MP 1/1.28-inch sensor with optical image stabilization, a 50MP portrait telephoto lens with 2X optical zoom and 20X digital zoom, and a 50MP ultra-wide-angle camera with a 115° field of view. The camera supports 4K video recording at 30/60 frames per second, as well as in HDR mode. The user can turn on a frame preview on the external screen and start shooting hands-free: with his voice, gesture or smile.

The hinged design of the Phantom V Fold2 5G allows you to fix the smartphone when open at an angle from 30° to 120° in FreeForm mode. The hinge parts are made from aerospace-grade steel and the hinge itself is designed to last over 400,000 folds, or about 20 years of use. The depth of the central fold does not exceed 0.1 mm.

The power source is a 5750 mAh battery with fast wired charging of 70 W, which allows you to replenish the charge by 50% in just 20 minutes, and it will take only 50 minutes to fully charge. There is also support for 15W wireless charging.

The new V Pen stylus allows you to take full advantage of the big screen, expanding the range of user scenarios for different tasks. With its help, you can leave notes on screenshots, take notes on a large folding screen, quickly make calculations, work with visual content, etc. The stylus is also equipped with two buttons for controlling the smartphone from a distance to switch slides or start shooting photos and videos.

The Phantom V Flip2 5G vertical folding smartphone has a 3.64-inch diagonal AMOLED external screen with a 120Hz refresh rate and an internal 6.9-inch AMOLED LTPO screen with an adaptive refresh rate of 10 to 120Hz.

The external screen is as full-featured as the main one, offering flexible settings for screensavers, use of the keyboard, launching games, videos, cameras and applications. To protect it, impact-resistant Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 is used. The main screen is protected from damage by flexible ultra-thin SCHOTT UTG glass and a special film.

The Phantom V Flip2 5G’s 50 MP FreeCam camera system includes a 50 MP main camera with optical stabilization, a 50 MP ultra-wide-angle camera with a 114° viewing angle, and a 32 MP front camera with eye autofocus. Like the Phantom V Fold2 5G, the Phantom V Flip2 5G smartphone allows for hands-free shooting.

The 4,720 mAh battery supports fast wired charging, delivering 0 to 50% charge in just 15 minutes, and a full charge in just 45 minutes. According to TECNO Lab tests, one charge of the device is enough for 14 hours of communication on social networks or 10 hours of continuous video viewing.
