Brin made the announcement in an interview during the All-In Summit event in Los Angeles this week. But this time he himself publicly commented on his return to the company.
«It’s a big, fast-growing field,” he said of AI. In his opinion, it is of “colossal importance for humanity.” However, Brin doubts that training more efficient AI will require a significant increase in computing resources. “I’ve read some papers that talk about extrapolation [of calculations], and I don’t know if I believe it – partly because the optimization of algorithms that has happened over the past few years may actually even outpace the growth in computing power embedded in these models,” said Sergey Brin.
