The global version of the world’s thinnest foldable smartphone Honor Magic V3 has been presented for €1999

Honor announced at the IFA 2024 event in Berlin the global version of the Magic V3 smartphone – this is the thinnest foldable model in the world. Despite its compact dimensions, the device offers advanced technical equipment, including the current flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor.

One of the most important advantages of Honor Magic V3 is the improved hinge mechanism with a thickness of 2.84 mm, designed for half a million bends. It helped reduce the thickness of the case to 9.2 mm when folded and to 4.35 mm when unfolded, excluding the protruding camera blocks. The smartphone body boasts a 7-series aluminum alloy frame and IPX8 water resistance; The weight of the gadget is only 226 g.

On the front side of the Honor Magic V3 there is an external 6.43-inch display with FHD+ resolution; The LTPO OLED matrix provides it with a dynamic refresh rate from 1 to 120 Hz. It has a standard 20:9 aspect ratio for modern all-in-one PCs, a peak brightness of 2500 cd/m², and supports stylus input. The main 7.92-inch display also uses an LTPO OLED matrix, which has an adaptive refresh rate of 1–120 Hz; peak brightness – 1800 cd/m². The Goodix ultrasonic fingerprint scanner promises fast fingerprint recognition.

Honor Magic V3 runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip – together with it, 12 or 16 GB of LPDDR5X RAM and a UFS 4.0 drive from 256 GB to 1 TB are installed. The thin body did not stop the manufacturer from equipping the device with a larger cooling system than last year’s model.

Three cameras in the main unit are represented by a 50-megapixel main one with an f/1.6 aperture and an optical stabilizer, a 50-megapixel with periscope optics and 3.5x zoom (f/3.0) and a 40-megapixel wide-angle (f/2 ,2); 20-megapixel cameras are located in the through holes of both screens.

The smartphone runs MagicOS 8.0.1 based on Android 14. AI-based search “Circle to Search” is supported; There is a feature called Honor Parallel Space, which allows you to split the main display and create two separate smartphones with their own applications and profiles – you can even assign them separate SIM cards.

The internal screen also offers Honor AI Defocus Eye Protection, which prevents the development of myopia by simulating the effect of bifocal glasses. The third generation silicon-carbon battery has a capacity of 5150 mAh and supports 66W wired and 50W wireless charging.

The international version of Honor Magic V3 will go on sale in black, brown and green colors at a price of €1999 in a single configuration with 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of internal storage.
