Some of the changes to the GoPro Hero 13 Black over the previous generation include magnetic mounts, improved charging, a larger battery (10% larger than the GoPro Hero 12), and compatibility with three new lenses.

The GoPro Hero 13 Black supports a new burst mode that allows you to create 5.3K video at up to 120fps. When recording 720p video, the speed can increase to 400 frames per second. In addition to this, you can record 10-bit video in High Dynamic Range mode when using the G-Log profile. Support for the Wi-Fi 6 standard has been implemented, which will allow you to transfer captured content at higher speeds.

Otherwise, the new product is largely similar to the previous generation model. It uses the same 27-megapixel 1/1.9-inch sensor with an 8:7 aspect ratio. Support for proprietary HyperSmooth 6.0 technology is implemented, providing image stabilization when shooting.

In addition to the camera, the manufacturer introduced a new set of HB series lenses. The $99.99 Ultra Wide Lens Mod will expand the Hero 13 Black’s viewing angle to 177º. The $129.99 Macro Lens Mod is designed for macro photography and features a manual focus ring. The $129.99 Anamorphic Lens Mod lets you create ultra-wide-angle shots with a 21:9 aspect ratio and less distortion.

Coming to the new GoPro Hero, this miniature camera is 35% smaller and 46% lighter (the device weighs 86g) compared to the Hero 13 Black. According to the manufacturer, the built-in battery allows the camera to operate autonomously for up to 155 minutes when shooting 1080p video at 30 frames per second. It supports 4K video shooting at 30fps, as well as 2.7K slow motion at up to 60fps.

Both new items are available for pre-order on the manufacturer’s website. You can buy the miniature GoPro Hero camera for $199, and for the flagship GoPro Hero 13 Black you will have to pay $399.
