Prices for Ryzen 9000 have dropped even more

AMD Ryzen 9000 processors have been on sale for less than a month, but all new products are already being sold at prices below the recommended price, and in some cases discounts exceed 10%. Apparently, the demand for new products leaves much to be desired, and sellers are trying to somehow attract the attention of buyers to the new processors.

When the Ryzen 7000 hit the market, many users were hesitant to invest hundreds of dollars in a new, immature platform. The high cost of DDR5 memory, which was required for these chips, very expensive motherboards and the processors themselves did not add “pluses” to AMD in the eyes of many users. Later the situation improved: processors, memory and motherboards became cheaper.

For the release of Ryzen 9000, AMD adjusted its strategy, making the new models slightly cheaper, but this was not enough. This is especially true for mid-level models, which, with their standard 65-W mode, look weak both against the background of Ryzen 7000X3D chips and compared to competitors. Soon the Ryzen 5 9600X and Ryzen 7 9700X chips will receive a 105 W mode activated through the BIOS, but even so they are unlikely to be able to compete with the Ryzen 7 7800X3D.

So retailers are taking over. So in the USA, prices for Ryzen 9000 at the largest retailers have already fallen by 2.5 to 11.8%. The biggest discount is on the Ryzen 9 9900X, which can be purchased for $439.99 with a suggested price of $499. The price of the Ryzen 5 9600X also dropped quite significantly (by 6.8%) – from the recommended $279 to $259.99. Finally, the Ryzen 9 9950X has already dropped 4.5% from the recommended $649 to $619.99, while the Ryzen 7 9700X has dropped in price by only 2.5% from $359 to $349.99. Let’s add. That just a week ago the prices of these new products were slightly higher, so there is a high probability that after some time new AMD processors will become even more affordable.

Let us add that the main competitors of the Ryzen 9000 in the near future will remain their predecessors Ryzen 7000, as well as the improved Ryzen 7000X3D. According to the latest information, AMD is not going to launch the Ryzen 9000X3D series this year. And according to other rumors, one processor with Zen 5 and 3D V-Cache will be released this year.
