Lenovo introduced the ThinkPad T14s laptop with 29 hours of autonomy and Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite chip

Lenovo has launched the ThinkPad T14s Gen 6 business laptop. The manufacturer claims that this thin and light laptop can provide up to 29 hours of battery life. This is largely due to the energy-efficient Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite chip, however, the claimed impressive battery life causes some skepticism until the advertising claims are verified by independent experts.

Lenovo claims that this long battery life was obtained during a test of video playback from the built-in drive without an Internet connection. This use case is especially attractive for those who often take long flights without the possibility of recharging. The ThinkPad T14s Gen with a 14-inch screen weighs 1.24 kg and is 16.9 mm thick. The capacity of the built-in battery is 58 Wh, which is quite standard for such a device.

The laptop is available in three versions with different displays with an aspect ratio of 16:10:

  • IPS panel with a resolution of 1920 × 1200 pixels, matte anti-glare coating and a refresh rate of 60 Hz;
  • IPS touch panel with a resolution of 1920 × 1200 pixels and a refresh rate of 60 Hz;;
  • OLED panel with a resolution of 2880 × 1800 pixels and a refresh rate of 120 Hz.

Lenovo ThinkPad T14s is built on the Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite Arm processor with 12 Oryon cores. The device has 32 GB of LPDDR5x RAM and a 1 TB solid-state drive. Sources claim that the laptop uses a cooling system with two fans. Traditionally, ThinkPad family laptops are designed for business users and offer a fairly wide range of ports for connecting external devices.

Of course, you have to pay for the technical specifications and build quality. At e-commerce outlets in China, where this model was first launched, prices for the ThinkPad T14s Gen 6 start at around $1,700.
