AMD introduced Amuse 2.0 – AI image generation software for Ryzen and Radeon

AMD introduced Amuse 2.0, a software tool for AI image generation. The program is available in beta version. In the future, its functionality will expand. Amuse 2.0 is a kind of analogue of Intel’s AI Playground tool, using the power of Intel Arc graphics cards. AMD’s content generation solution, in turn, relies on the power of Ryzen processors and Radeon video cards.

Developed with TensorStack, Amuse 2.0 is easy to use without the need to download a lot of external components, use command lines, or run anything else. To use the application, you just need to run the executable file.

Compared to Intel AI Playground, Amuse 2.0 does not support running chatbots based on large language models. Currently, the app is only designed to generate images using AI. Amuse 2.0 uses Stable Diffusion models and supports Ryzen AI 300 (Strix Point), Ryzen 8040 (Hawk Point) processors and the Radeon RX 7000 series graphics cards. Why did the company not add support for Radeon RX 6000 and earlier graphics cards, as well as Ryzen 7040 processors ( Phoenix), which have almost identical characteristics to Hawk Point, is unknown. Perhaps this will change in the future.

To run Amuse 2.0, AMD recommends 24 GB of RAM or more for Ryzen AI 300-based systems and 32 GB of RAM for Ryzen 8040-based systems. There are no memory requirements specified for Radeon RX 7000 graphics cards.

Amuse 2.0 features:

  • No command line required;
  • Simplicity and ease of use;
  • AMD XDNA Super Resolution support;
  • One executable file;
  • No settings;
  • Automatic configuration and model selection;
  • Converting a drawing into an image;
  • Creating your own AI filters;
  • Multi-stage pipeline based on ONNX (Stable Diffusion, Control Nets, Feature Extractors).

It is worth noting that the tool supports XDNA Super Resolution, a technology that allows you to double the scale of images. More information about Amuse 2.0 can be found at this link.
