The fantasy tabletop role-playing game Dungeons & Dragons turns 50 in 2024, and Wizards of the Coast decided to celebrate the significant anniversary with an unusual collaboration.
As it turns out, Wizards of the Coast has teamed up with Royal Mail, the UK’s postal operator, to release a line of themed stamps in honor of the 50th anniversary of Dungeons & Dragons.
A total of 14 brands are announced:
British artist Wayne Reynolds, known, among other things, for his work in the Dungeons & Dragons universe, is responsible for the illustrations for the stamps (you can check them out in the gallery below).
Pre-order of stamps is already available in the official UK Royal Mail store: a set with heroes will cost £8.10 (about 930 rubles), and for monsters you will have to pay £15.40 (1,770 rubles). Expected to go on sale July 25.
In addition to standard sets, Royal Mail offers many other products based on the collaboration: postcards, collector’s albums, poster versions of stamps costing up to £150 (17.1 thousand rubles).
The first edition of Dungeons & Dragons was released in 1974. The franchise’s 50th anniversary celebration kicked off in March and will include mechanics from Baldur’s Gate 3 being introduced into the official rules.
