Fasten your seat belts: Apacer introduced rubber bands for attaching memory modules

Apacer has announced special straps designed to hold RAM modules in the slots. This prevents them from moving in industrial systems in the event of shaking, vibration or shock. Thus, stability and reliability of operation are increased.

Industrial RAM modules can be used in computers designed for difficult operating conditions. These could be on-board automotive or aviation systems, smart edge devices, etc. Vibration over time can lead to changes in the position of the modules, which can cause malfunctions.

New straps solve this problem. They ensure reliable fixation of DIMMs in their slots. The straps have three attachment points, as opposed to conventional two-point clips. Compatibility is declared with all modern motherboards, which allows the straps to be used in existing devices.

The products are made of fire-resistant polysiloxane, thanks to which they can withstand temperatures up to 200 °C. The developer also talks about high elasticity and flexibility, which are maintained even at low temperatures. These characteristics make it possible to use the straps in the harshest conditions without the risk of short circuits, ruptures or damage. Plus, the products have successfully passed tests to meet military standards MIL-STD-833K and MIL-STD-810G in terms of resistance to shock and vibration.
