On the launch day, four processors from the Ryzen 9000 series will appear on store shelves: the 16-core Ryzen 9950X, the 12-core Ryzen 9 9900X, the eight-core Ryzen 9700X and the six-core Ryzen 5 9600X. The company still does not disclose the cost of the new chips. These details are expected next week. This cautious approach may be aimed at not giving Intel an advantage in pricing for future Core Ultra 200K processors. Or AMD first wants to collect feedback from reviewers about the new processors, who are already testing them.

AMD also confirmed that the new Ryzen 7 9700X and Ryzen 5 9600X have a nominal TDP of 65W, which is 40W lower than the Ryzen 7 7700X and Ryzen 5 7600X, respectively. The flagship Ryzen 9 9950X has a TDP of 170W, the same as the Ryzen 9 7950X. In turn, the power consumption of the Ryzen 9 9900X is stated at 120 W, which is 50 W lower than that of the Ryzen 7900X.

AMD also provided information on the performance of upcoming processors, comparing them with current analogues from Intel. Thus, the Ryzen 5 9600X is up to 26% faster than the Core i5-14600K in games, and in some applications it almost reaches a double advantage. The Ryzen 7 9700X was up to 31% faster than the Core i7-14700K in games, and up to 42% in applications. Finally, the Ryzen 9 9900X is up to 22 and 41 percent faster than the Core i9-14900K in the same tasks, respectively. AMD also noted that the Ryzen 7 9700X will be on average 12% higher than the Ryzen 7 5800X3D.
