Designed to fill the gap between smartphones and laptops, the original ipad received a 9.7-inch display with LED backlight and multi-line function, the first specially designed Apple chip, a 30-pin connector for the dock and up to 64 GB memory. The tablet weighed 680 grams and provided up to 10 hours of battery life.
