When Microsoft unveiled its multiplatform strategy last winter, it didn’t intend to bring Starfield and Indiana Jones and the Great Circle to other consoles. A year later, the statements of the company’s management are no longer so categorical.

Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencer told former IGN journalist Destin Legarie that he couldn’t guarantee Starfield exclusivity in the future.
«No. It makes no sense to me to put a fence around this or that game and say that it will not come out where it can find new players and bring us success,” Spencer responded to Legarrier’s question about the preservation of Starfield exclusivity.

According to Spencer, “keeping games away from other platforms” is a path that is not suitable or working for Microsoft, while the current strategy allows the company to “create the best platform for the best games in the world.”
«More and more developers are asking us how we can stay together when our games are available in so many different places. We definitely want Xbox to be the platform that allows this,” Spencer assured.
