Zotac showed a prototype of a portable gaming console Zone Gaming on the AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 chip

At the CES 2025 exhibition taking place these days, Zotac demonstrated a prototype of the Zone Gaming portable gaming console. Despite the fact that the developers did not bring the final version of the product to the exhibition, the device looks quite functional and, apparently, will provide much higher performance compared to last year’s Zotac Zone model.

The developers have significantly updated the hardware of their gaming console. Zone Gaming is powered by an AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 processor (12 cores, 24 threads) based on the Zen 5 architecture. The chip is manufactured using a 4 nm process technology and has 24 MB of L3 cache and 1 MB of L2 cache per core. In addition to this, Radeon 890M graphics are provided on the RDNA 3.5 architecture with 16 computing units.

The device is equipped with 32 GB of LPDDR5X RAM and a 1 TB PCIe 4.0 solid-state drive. The Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 chip has a standard TDP of 28 W with the ability to configure in the range from 15 W to 54 W, which gives Zotac developers some room for optimization. In addition, the chip is equipped with an NPU neural coprocessor, which provides performance up to 50 TOPS.

The console retains a 7-inch OLED display with a refresh rate of 120 Hz. The design uses joysticks based on Hall effect sensors, and autonomy is ensured by a 48.5 Wh rechargeable battery. For wireless connection, Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2 modules are provided. There is also a microSD card slot, USB4 ports and a stand.

At the exhibition, the developers presented the console in a white color version of the case, however, devices in different colors are likely to go on sale. The console will go on sale later this year. The developers have not yet disclosed the cost of the device.
