Zoom has announced a major update to its AI assistant, which can independently perform routine tasks for users. The assistant has received functions for scheduling meetings, creating documents based on meetings, and the ability to generate video clips.

Zoom plans to add more useful features in the future. Later this month, the Zoom Workplace mobile app will feature a built-in voice recorder that will record, transcribe, and summarize in-person meetings. In May, the company will launch a “live notes” feature that will allow you to get real-time text summaries during video and phone calls, The Verge reports.
The important thing is that the AI assistant and all the new features mentioned will be available to Zoom Workplace users at no extra cost. However, in April, the company will introduce an interesting feature as an additional service. For $12 per month, you can create personal AI avatars that will send messages to colleagues on your behalf. The feature is called Custom AI Companion.

In addition to personalized avatars, Zoom will also be adding standard virtual character templates to the service. Unlike Custom AI Companion, these avatars will be available for free to all users. These features are expected to become available in late March, and the tool itself will appear in the Tasks tab on the Zoom Workplace platform.
