«Yandex has released a separate mobile application “Alice” for Android and iOS – it is intended for communicating with a virtual assistant, working with text and creating images. Images are generated using the YandexART 2.0 model. In the future, the assistant will be able to work with a mobile phone camera, recognizing and analyzing objects; and will also gain long-term memory.

The Alice application works with the user’s voice requests and processes text requests, as in the web version. Conversation history is synchronized between platforms. In the web version and application, image generation is available using the YandexART 2.0 neural network – it supports creating new images and editing existing ones using additional queries. Users of the free version of the voice assistant can create up to five pictures per day, and Alice Pro subscribers have the opportunity to create images in any quantity.

«Yandex has reduced the number of cases when the virtual assistant cannot give an answer by six times; the answers themselves became more complete, reliable and structured. This means that Alice supports a wider range of conversation topics and has become more informative. Integration of YandexART 2.0 allows you to work with texts and images in a single interface: for example, you can immediately request an illustration for a text created by artificial intelligence. The latest versions of the YandexGPT and YandexART neural networks are available to Alice Pro subscribers.

Today, October 10, the Alice voice assistant turns seven years old. Its future versions will gain vision: the system will be able to process camera images in real time and conduct a conversation using visual analysis of objects.

In the future, Alice will also gain long-term memory – she will be able to remember the context of the conversation, as well as give the user more accurate and personalized answers. Finally, the voice assistant can be interrupted at any time to change the topic of the conversation – you will no longer need to listen to its answer to the end, nor will you need to contact it again.
