Yandex Registers Rover Brand for Developing Robotic Delivery

The Yandex company has filed applications to register the trademarks “Rover”, Rover, “Yandex rover” and Yandex Rover. This was reported by the TASS news agency with reference to the Rospatent database.

«As part of the planned development of the robot delivery service, we want to secure for ourselves the laconic name of the delivery robot, which is already used when it is mentioned,” said a Yandex representative.

According to the available data, the said trademarks are registered under the classes of the international classification of goods and services, which include global positioning system devices, remote control devices, unmanned transport robots, outdoor autonomous robots for the transportation and delivery of goods, outdoor autonomous robots for the transportation and delivery of parcels, transportation and delivery services by autonomous vehicles, rental of unmanned vehicles, lease of unmanned vehicles, ordering of the above-mentioned services, including through applications for mobile devices, as well as the organization or provision of the above-mentioned services, including through a mobile application or online.
