«Yandex demonstrated a new generation electric scooter developed in-house. The vehicle has several innovations, including a smart button that allows you to rent it without opening the app. This season, Yandex will only offer new generation scooters for rent in Moscow.

To rent a scooter, you now just need to approach it and press the button with the Yandex logo on the steering wheel. The Internet of Things module built into the vehicle synchronizes with the user’s smartphone via Bluetooth, a safety check is performed, and the rental begins. The same button allows you to pause the rental or end the ride. In April, Yandex will complete testing of the technology, after which the button will begin to work on all of the company’s scooters in Moscow.
The improved Internet of Things module has increased the level of safety. Electric scooters now more accurately determine zones where it is necessary to slow down or where riding is prohibited altogether. Light indicators signal other road users about the user’s intention to turn or brake. In the dark, a flashlight automatically turns on, illuminating the road at a distance of 10 meters. Convenient handles make it easier to carry the scooter up the stairs and help you quickly find the one you need among many others.
The vehicle has become 3 kg lighter, the front wheel has increased in size, and the new platform design provides better foot stability – even during sudden braking or avoiding obstacles. A memo with the basic rules of the Yandex scooter rental service is printed on the body: use only from the age of 18, cross the road on foot, do not rent a scooter after drinking alcohol and ride only alone. In 2025, the entire Moscow Yandex Go fleet will consist of new-generation scooters.
