Yandex B2B Tech Launches SourceCraft Developer Platform, Which Should Become an Analogue of the American GitLab

With the help of the SourceCraft platform, IT specialists can jointly develop and develop software products. At the moment, developers and DevOps engineers can use the platform in test mode, in the future, along with free tariffs, commercial options will appear. SourceCraft is positioned as the main workplace of an IT specialist in the Software Development Life Cycle.

The platform is suitable for individual developers (work in open and closed repositories; planning, creation and migration from other platforms; acceptance of changes, assembly and deployment in Yandex Cloud), businesses and CTOs (reducing costs for testing business hypotheses, development and time to market; customizing the platform for yourself), educational institutions (development of courses/hackathons, storage of student portfolios).

The service supports more than 30 programming languages. For now, it is available via a web interface. In the summer of 2025, SourceCraftс will become available for businesses and the open source community. In the fall, the platform’s tools will be provided using the cloud model (SaaS, Software as a Service) and integrated with Yandex Cloud services, which will allow you to deploy a project in the cloud infrastructure “at the push of a button.” The developers also plan to implement an on-premise model – for use on their own servers. In the future, SourceCraft will also have secret scanning and vulnerability search functions in supply chains, and automation tools will be improved.

SourceCraft is being developed within the Yandex B2B Tech business line, which was opened in November 2024, in Yandex Cloud. According to Yandex, Yandex Cloud’s revenue for 2024 was RUB 19.8 billion. In total, Yandex Cloud plans to invest RUB 42 billion in new areas in 2025–2026, including the development of SourceCraft.
