Xiaomi introduced the Redmi 14C smartphone with the Helio G81 Ultra chip, 6.88″ screen and price starting at $119

Xiaomi has introduced an affordable Redmi 14C smartphone, built on an eight-core MediaTek Helio G81 Ultra chip and equipped with a large screen with a refresh rate of 120 Hz.

The 6.88-inch IPS screen has HD+ resolution (1640×720 pixels) and supports a maximum brightness of 600 cd/m2. According to the company, this is the largest screen in the Redmi family. The screen provides 70% coverage of the NTSC color space. The contrast is 1500:1. The screen has received TÜV Rheinland Low Blue Light and TÜV Rheinland Flicker Free certifications, confirming reduced levels of blue light that are harmful to the eyes and no flicker.

The waterdrop notch at the top of the screen houses a 13-megapixel front camera for taking selfies with an f/2.0 aperture. On the back of the smartphone there is a main 50-megapixel camera with an f/1.8 aperture, as well as support for night and portrait modes.

The MediaTek Helio G81 Ultra processor used in the smartphone with an operating frequency of up to 2.0 GHz is equipped with a Mali-G52 MC2 graphics accelerator. The LPDDR4X RAM capacity is up to 8 GB with the possibility of virtual expansion by another 8 GB. The capacity of the eMMC 5.1 flash drive is 128 or 256 GB. The storage capacity can be expanded using a microSD card slot.

The smartphone is powered by a 5160 mAh battery with 18 W charging. The device specifications also include a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, a USB Type-C port, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The body colors are black (Midnight Black), purple (Dreamy Purple), green (Sage Green) and blue (Starry Blue). The device runs Xiaomi HyperOS.
