According to online sources, Microsoft is working on a major update to the Windows 11 Start menu that is expected to combine the Pinned and Recommended areas with the app list into a single interface. The Start menu will also be wider, allowing more apps to be pinned, and all items in the section will be displayed automatically.

The updated Start menu will have more options for customizing the display of elements. For example, users will be able to move the Recommended section, which usually displays recently installed products or recently opened files, to a block with pinned applications.
One of the first to notice the new Start menu in the latest Windows 11 beta available to Windows Insider program participants was a user of the social network X with the nickname @phantomofearth, who reported about it on his page. The update has not yet been officially announced, but given that the annual Microsoft Build developer conference will take place in May, it can be assumed that the software giant will tell more about the new Start menu in the next few weeks.
