«Thank you, it was a great story! VK NFT gave us valuable experience and many warm moments – now we are moving on. All content in the VK NFT HUB community will remain. Until April 15, you can withdraw your tokens from the internal wallet and transfer them to an external one. And the neon diamonds from the avatars will work until April 15,” the message on VK NFT HUB says.
The VK press service said that VF VFT “was a pilot experiment in the web3 direction” and that the company’s focus has now shifted “to the development of a content platform and tools for authors.” Recall that the VK NFT project was launched at the end of 2022, and about a year later, VK announced the growth of the platform’s user base to 5 million people. At the same time, the number of linked cryptocurrency wallets amounted to 500 thousand, and the total number of tokens on user balances is more than 1 million pieces.
In 2023, VK released its own NFT collection CryptoSpotty with the VKontakte mascot dog named Spotty. The entire collection of 8 thousand tokens was sold out in less than an hour, and the most expensive token was bought for 201 thousand rubles. VKontakte planned to transfer the funds received from the sale of tokens to the Vnimanie charity foundation for the restoration of an architectural monument – the Bak apartment building in St. Petersburg.
