Vivo will release a direct competitor to Apple Vision Pro in 2025

Vivo plans to release a direct competitor to the Apple Vision Pro mixed reality headset. The company has officially announced that it will unveil a prototype of its mixed reality headset in 2025.

According to reports, the prototype of the device will be announced in September or October. Some functions of the Vivo headset, according to the source, will surpass the capabilities of the Vision Pro. This is not surprising since the Vision Pro will be at least a year and a half old by the time Vivo’s headset hits the market, and it will be relatively easy to beat such an outdated device.

The development of the mixed reality headset is carried out by a separate division of Vivo, the number of which has grown to 500 people. It is obvious that the company considers this direction to be important and promising, despite the modest sales volumes of Apple headsets. If Vivo manages to create a product similar to the Vision Pro, with a number of improvements and at a significantly lower price, this mixed reality headset could very well become a bestseller.

By the end of next year, Vivo will complete “high-precision prototype testing” in several cities in China. However, it remains unclear when the device will appear on the markets of other countries.
