The network began to grow on the network about the failures in the work of the GEFORCE RTX of the 50th series. And the matter may not be at all the simple problem of compatibility associated with the PCIe 5.0 interface, which was previously reported. The heterogeneity of these complaints does not allow to determine a single source of problems. Some are faced with the fact that the operating system simply “does not see” the map, others complain that the installation of the last NVIDIA driver turns the card into “brick”.

It all started with complaints in Chinese forums, where users reported problems with the launch of the latest flagship video cards GeForce RTX 5090D (Chinese version with cut capabilities for AI). According to a number of owners of these cards, after installing a fresh GeForce Gamerain driver, to which the support of new accelerators was added, they collided with a black screen.

One of the users of the Chinese social network Bilibili described in detail the actions that Manli GeForce RTX 5090d Gallardo did in attempts to restore the work of his video card. Choosing a built -in graphics of the central processor as a signal source, it booted in Windows, after which he tried to switch to discrete graphics, but this did not help. Then he deleted the GeForce driver using a special utility of the NVIDIA DDU software cleaning, after which he tried to install different versions of the driver. But this did not work either: the drivers refused to recognize the video card, which, by the way, had all the fans worked at maximum speed. Even the reinstallation of the system did not help, and in the end the motherboard stopped recognizing the GeForce RTX 5090D.

Readdit readers also complain about problems with the initialization of new video cards with the operating system, as well as on the black screen, which appears after installing the last driver from NVIDIA. At the same time, the owners of the GeForce RTX 5080 have already encountered the problem here. One of the users said that its GPU operates only in PCIe 2.0. It seems that the driver’s rollback to the older version can solve most of these problems, however, some users report that their video cards are not determined by the motherboard or Windows operating system, which makes the driver’s rollback impossible.

Some users suggest that the last driver somehow damages the GPU integrated circuit, making the card unsuitable for use. However, there is no confirmation of this. At the moment, it is impossible to determine what exactly causes the above problems. The nature of errors in the work of video cards that users faced is hinting at the “damp” of the graphic driver for the Blackwell architecture. But since the card owners actually do not have the opportunity to use them, they have no other solution, except to try to hand over these cards under warranty. There is no information about how soon they can get a replacement. Against the backdrop of a serious deficiency of new GEFORCE RTX video cards, wait for the replacement, it may have been weeks.

Perhaps NVIDIA partners simply did not have enough time to test new video cards. Because of this, manufacturers of video cards and maternal boards could not have time to prepare stable versions of VBIOS and BIOS, which would provide the full compatibility of the GEFORCE RTX of the 50th series with current platforms. But again, this is just an assumption.

According to the Videocardz portal, Manli recognized the existence of a problem, but claims that it was observed only in one video card. The manufacturer has already put on the market there are already many units of new video cards. According to Manli, their technical support received only one complaint. The company adds that the problem in the operation of new accelerators can be associated with compatibility of PCI Express interface configurations on some motherboards.

The last emergency update of the driver, which was reported today, does not eliminate the above problems.
