Users began to spend 37 times more on mobile applications with AI in two years

Over the past two years, the monthly income of the developers of mobile applications with artificial intelligence (AI) has grown 37 times. In particular, in 2024, users spent $ 1.4 billion on them, Kommersant said with reference to the report of the analytical company Appfigures. According to the forecast of analysts, in 2025, user expenses for such applications will exceed $ 2 billion.

With a large margin, by the number of downloads among AI applications, the Openai Chat-Bot CHATGPT leads. It was represented in November 2022 and became available to users in mobile applications stores in May 2023. Since then, users of smartphones have spent $ 529 million on it, and the monthly revenue of its developer has grown from the moment of launch by 75 times. Since July last year, the monthly income from ChatGPT has exceeded the total income from all other popular assistance applications in the App Store and Play Store.

The most popular among applications with AI are chatbots. According to the results of the last two years, smart assistants have occupied eight out of the ten -first places in the download rating.

Most users of applications with AI are young people who belong to the age category from 18 to 24 years old. At the same time, the lion’s share of expenses on such applications accounts for users from the USA – 64 % of all expenses in the world.
