Typo Forces OnePlus to Delay Watch 3 Sales by a Month and a Half

Earlier this month, the OnePlus Watch 3 smartwatch was unveiled for $329. Shortly after, it became known that the back of all the first batch of devices had “Meda in China” engraved on it instead of “Made in China.” Sales of the new product were supposed to begin this week, but due to an unfortunate typo, the vendor postponed them until April.

Since the typo was made on all devices of the first batch, the manufacturer will need a lot of time to fix the situation. For those who have already received a OnePlus Watch 3 with a typo, the manufacturer offers to exchange the device for free, although the typo does not affect the operation of the gadget.

Despite the postponement of the start of sales, the company continues to accept pre-orders for the purchase of new smart watches. The current situation has a good side – you can pre-order the watch with a discount, although you will have to wait until April.

It is curious that failures with smart watches have been haunting OnePlus literally since the launch of the original OnePlus Watch. The first version of the device was distinguished by extremely inaccurate measurement of the user’s health indicators. Many shortcomings were corrected in the OnePlus Watch 2, which turned out to be quite competitive and could be considered as an alternative to smart watches from Google or Samsung.
