Turtle Beach taught the Stealth 700 gaming headset to switch between console and PC using a button

Gaming peripherals manufacturer Turtle Beach has equipped its third-generation Stealth 700 wireless headset with two USB transmitters, thanks to which it can switch between a desktop gaming console and a PC or portable console with the press of a button.

This isn’t the first product of its kind to switch between audio sources at the touch of a button, but the more expensive Logitech Astro A50 X uses a more complex design that routes audio and video through HDMI pass-through. The Turtle Beach Stealth 700, with a more modest price tag, offers not so luxurious, but quite decent sound – it is provided by 60 mm drivers, which have grown by 10 mm compared to the previous generation headset. Bluetooth 5.2 is supported, there is a microphone with noise reduction function (based on artificial intelligence, the manufacturer says), and the battery life is 80 hours.

The PC version offers 24-bit/96 kHz audio output and 16-bit/32 kHz microphone support, while the console version is limited to 16-bit/48 kHz audio output and 16-bit/16 kHz microphone output. What’s funny is that the Microsoft Xbox version is compatible with Sony PlayStation and PC, but the PlayStation and PC versions don’t work with Xbox – although the PlayStation model works with PC, and the PC model is compatible with PS5 and PS4. This complex scheme is likely related to the licensing mechanisms of Microsoft and Sony. The updated Turtle Beach Stealth 700 has a suggested retail price of $199.99; Pre-orders are being accepted now, and the headset will go on public sale only on September 22.
