It was still not clear in which part of Taiwan the local TSMC company would decide to build the first enterprise for the production of an advanced 1-nm product. The Economic Daily News publication reports that the choice fell to the southern part of the island, where in the vicinity of the Tinnan, a platform is allocated for the construction of six workshops for the production of 1-nm chips, united by the general designation FAB 25.

TSMC products in the southern (FAB 22) and northwestern part of the island (FAB 20) have enterprises. The American enterprise in Arizona received the FAB 21 designation, the Japanese bears the name FAB 23, and the German is designated as FAB 24. From this point of view, the next TSMC site should be called FAB 25, and here it just falls into the logic of the designations.
The first three phase FAB 25 will be focused on the production of 1.4-nm chips and will appear first of all, three more buildings will be completed later, in which the production of 1-nm chips will be mastered over time. If TSMC accelerates the development of technological processes in this range, then the first three enterprises on the FAB 25 site will immediately begin production of 1-nm products, and the three subsequent ones will be specialized already at 0.7-nm. In the southern part of the TSMC island, it has enterprises that produce 5-nm and 3-nm products, some of them can also be reoriented to work with 1-nm and 0.7-nm technologies.
