‘Traumatizing Millions of Children’: Villagers from New Minecraft Movie Trailer Horrify Fans

Warner Bros. Pictures continues to mentally prepare fans for the premiere of the film “Minecraft in the Movie” based on the popular block sandbox of the same name from Mojang. A new teaser trailer for the film was released the day before.

Let us remind you that in the plot, four losers are drawn into a cubic world through a mysterious portal. To return home, the heroes will have to show courage and ingenuity, and team up with local expert Steve.

The new video is just a minute long and is about half old footage, but also shows off some new situations and a first look at the local variation of the villagers (see image above).

While the main characters in Minecraft are portrayed by Hollywood actors, the villagers are animated in the style of local animals, whose appearance has already been criticized by fans.

As a result, the humanoids retained their blocky form, but unlike the fluffy bees or feathered chickens, the villagers were not lucky enough to be covered in rough, realistic-looking flesh.

The appearance of the Minecraft movie’s villagers has drawn mixed reactions, but on Reddit, fans are mostly horrified. “They look like they’re going to traumatize millions of children,” predicts mekmookbro.

The US premiere of “Minecraft the Movie” will take place on April 4. The film was directed by Jared Hess, and the leading roles went to Jack Black and Jason Momoa.
