Toshiba has expanded its range of N300 and N300 Pro hard drives for NAS, RAID, and private and small enterprise cloud servers with 24TB models. Both HDDs use conventional magnetic recording (CMR) technology and are designed for 24/7 operation.

For the N300 and N300 Pro hard drives, the manufacturer claims a constant data transfer rate of 309 MB/s. For the N300 model, the workload is up to 180 TB per year and the ability to use in systems with support for up to 12 drives. The N300 Pro model is designed for a workload of up to 550 TB per year and supports operation in systems with up to 24 drives. The spindle rotation speed of the new products is 7200 rpm.

The N300 and N300 Pro 24TB models have a 1073MB buffer. The drives are rated for 600,000 load/unload cycles. The hard drives consume 7.62W of power in operating mode.

Toshiba’s 24TB N300 and N300 Pro hard drives will begin shipping this month. Pricing for the former has not yet been disclosed, while the larger model is available on Amazon for $650.
