Today Samsung will present the Galaxy S25 smartphones, the Galaxy Ring 2 smart ring and new AI products

The Galaxy Unpacked event will take place tonight in San Jose, California, where Samsung will unveil the new flagship Galaxy S25 series smartphones, the Galaxy Ring 2 smart ring and numerous “premium innovations” that will open a “new chapter in mobile AI.” The event will start at 21:00 Moscow time and will be broadcast on the official Samsung YouTube channel, the Samsung Newsroom portal and on the company’s official website.

Samsung’s invitation to Galaxy Unpacked directly hints at the presentation of the flagship Galaxy S25 line: “The new Galaxy S series is set to once again set the bar for mobile AI capabilities now and in the future.” Numerous leaks give a good idea of the screen sizes of the devices. The Galaxy S25 will have a 6.2-inch display, the Galaxy S25 Plus will have a 6.7-inch display, and the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra will have a 6.9-inch display.

Based on the leaked images, all S25 series phones will have rounder edges but otherwise appear to remain very close to the current Galaxy S24 series design. Color options for base models will include Iceblue (blue), Mint (blue-green), Navy (dark blue) and Silver Shadow (silver), and for Ultra – Titanium Black (black), Titanium Gray (gray), Titanium Silver Blue (silver-blue) and Titanium White Silver (silver-white).

Qualcomm, during the announcement of the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset in October, said that Samsung would be one of the first smartphone manufacturers on this mobile platform. Therefore, it is highly likely that the S25 line will be equipped with this latest Qualcomm chipset.

The chipset will bring significant improvements, especially in the area of artificial intelligence with support for on-device processing, resulting in faster processing speeds, lower latency by not sending data to the cloud, and increased security since the data will not leave the device. Experts who tested the new chipset on the recently announced OnePlus 13 claim that it handles everyday tasks “gracefully”, but its performance in graphics-intensive applications is slightly less efficient.

In announcing Galaxy Unpacked, the company described the new AI developments as “premium Galaxy innovations that bring convenience to every moment of your life.” Samsung plans to seamlessly integrate AI into users’ daily workflows on their smartphones. The new smartphones will likely be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, which will enhance the smartphone’s ability to handle resource-intensive AI queries, allowing data to be processed on the device without being sent to the cloud.

New AI-powered features could include adding additional lighting to a photo you’ve already taken, a “magic audio eraser” for audio processing, a dedicated pet photo feature that Qualcomm showed off in October, and numerous text-generating tools integrated into proprietary apps.

According to rumors, at today’s Galaxy Unpacked event the company may present its new smart ring, Galaxy Ring 2, which will provide increased battery life of up to seven days. The ring will be equipped with more accurate sensors for health monitoring and will have two new sizes for very large and small hands. Samsung promises to significantly improve the AI capabilities built into the device.

Even if Samsung decides not to unveil the Galaxy Ring 2 at today’s event, it won’t deny itself the pleasure of teasing attendees with a teaser of the new ring, as it did at last year’s Unpacked with the first Galaxy Ring.
