Tiktok is still unavailable in American Apple App Store and Google Play

The Tiktok application, despite the temporary restoration of access to the service, is still inaccessible to download users from the USA in Apple App Store and Google Play. In this regard, the company recommends downloading and installing the application directly from its official site.

The application temporarily stopped working on January 19, shortly before the entry into force of the law prohibiting its use in the United States, if the BYTEDANCE maternal company will not sell it to the American company. According to this law, Apple App Store and Google Play Store were required to remove Tiktok from their stores to avoid a fine of $ 5000 for each user who downloaded the application. Despite the fact that Tiktok restored access to his service less than a day after the Donald Trump decision, the application has not yet returned to Apple and Google stores, Engadget reports.

One of the decrees signed by President Trump after taking office has suspended the law prohibiting the application for 75 days, providing ByTedance time to find a buyer in the United States until April. It is reported that Trump instructed Vice President James Vance (James Vance) to manage negotiations on potential sale before the expiration of the deadline.

ByTedance has repeatedly stated in the past that she was not planning to sell a social network, but one of the largest investors of the company recently stated that the transaction was necessary, since this is “in the interests of all.” Several companies and individuals have already expressed the intention to purchase Tiktok in the United States, including Perplexity AI and Mrbeast.

The situation around Tiktok in the United States remains intense, and the future of the application in the country depends on the outcome of negotiations on the possible sale and further political decisions. And the recommendation of Tiktok users to set the application bypassing official stores only emphasizes the uncertainty of the situation and the company’s desire to maintain access to its American audience.

Typically, companies do not support the installation of applications bypassing official stores, but since this is an extraordinary case, Tiktok provided such an opportunity on its website.
