Meta✴ Platforms, the owner of the social network Threads, announced “long overdue improvements” for its platform, whose main competitor is X. We are talking about improving internal search, as well as the emergence of a new trends page.

Threads users will soon be able to search for messages within a range of dates or for posts made by the same account. In addition to this, a trend page will appear on the platform in test mode for users in the United States, which will display the most discussed topics, as well as artificial intelligence-generated summaries of what worries users of the social network the most at the moment. The head of Instagram✴ Adam Mosseri, under whose leadership Threads was launched, said that testing of these innovations begins today.

It’s been a big week for Threads, which faces growing competition from Bluesky, a decentralized platform that has gained significant popularity in recent weeks. For example, Threads users who run multiple channels can now place them on the home page for easier interaction. Something similar already exists in Bluesky, so Meta✴ had to quickly launch an analogue for its platform. It also announced that work is underway to improve recommendation algorithms to fill users’ feeds with relevant content from the people they follow.
