The world’s first electrihitar is presented with a design changing on the fly

The idea of ​​replaceable appearance reached the electrihitan. Cream Guitars, together with E Ink, created the Voltage Davinci electric guitar, the body of which can change color and even patterns on the fly. According to the developers, the new power tool “violates all the rules” and will help to configure the appearance of the guitar at a time and mood – that which has still been unthinkable. With Voltage Davinci, the musician will be able to reveal his talent even deeper.

E Ink is known for its screens for bookriders (electronic books), which are perfectly read in external lighting, which can not be said about LCD and OLED displays. In addition, E Ink screens consume energy only when the image is updated, and not to maintain it. This technology turned out to be ideal for black and white texts and pictures, but there were originally difficulties with color. Bright colors on the ENK screens began to appear relatively recently, but it is not worth looking for them in the bookriders – it is too expensive.

But the color screens of E Ink began to be used in outdoor advertising, electronic price tags and photo frames. A separate direction was their use for the design of replaceable skins – from the rear covers of smartphones to ladies’ handbags and even car bodies (for example, BMW IX Flow). The Cream Guitars Voltage Davinci guitar embodied all the best that E Ink offers in this area is Prism 3 technology with seven replaceable colors. The tool was presented this week at the Nam Show 2025 fashion exhibition in Paris.
