The Volkswagen ID.7 Pro S electric car showed autonomy 33 % higher than the declared, but I had to do not twist the steering wheel

In December, Volkswagen showed the ability to overcome its electric vehicles on the full charge of batteries much of greater distances than indicated in the technical passport. In any way, the Volkswagen ID.7 PRO S, unexplored electric car with standard batteries with a capacity of 86 kW · h drove 941 km, while the model characteristics of a little more than 700 km are declared. The car drove along the test route Nardo (Italy). This is a ring track 12.6 km long, equipped in such a way that along the extreme track you can move without moving the steering wheel. The Volkswagen ID.7 Pro S electric car moved along the highway at a speed of 29 km/h, imitating the movement in the city during the peak hours in large cities. In the process of movement per 100 km of path, 9.2 kWh of energy was spent.

Volkswagen said that although the “exceptionally low” indicator of the charge of the traction battery was reached under the test conditions, this proves that the ID.7 Pro S model “can also run very long distances with everyday use”. The test result is almost a third (32.7 %) exceeded the maximum range of the model when testing according to the WLTP standard, which corresponds to 709 km.

The company explained the effectiveness of excellent aerodynamics and a modern drive system demonstrated by an electric car. It can also boast of the ability to charge from a direct current with a capacity of up to 200 kW, which allows you to charge the battery at a maximum power of 10 % to 80 % in about 26 minutes.
