Steam’s December report on the most popular hardware configurations showed several upward trends: the shares of computers with 64 GB of RAM, AMD Ryzen processors, and Windows 11 went up.

Gamers are increasingly installing 64 GB of RAM on their computers, according to Steam statistics. The vast majority still cost 16 GB (45.07%, a decrease of 0.95 p.p.), 32 GB (32.08%, +0.43 p.p.) and 8 GB (10.07 p.p.) are also common. %, +0.12 p.p.); 64 GB ranks fourth (3.94%, +0.31 p.p.).

In the ranking of operating systems, Windows 11 took the leading position – it was installed by 54.96% (+1.98 p.p.) of Steam study participants. Most often, gamers make do with video cards with 8 GB of video memory (34.91%, -0.26 p.p.); The biggest decline, besides the leader, was shown by 6 GB (12.11%, -0.26 p.p.); the largest increase is 16 GB (4.26%, +0.15 p.p.). This is understandable: AAA games are increasingly less willing to run on video cards with 8 GB of memory, so Intel installed 12 GB even on the budget model Arc B580 of the Battlemage family for $250. And there are some doubts that AMD and Nvidia will follow suit.
