As expected, the “sequel” of the Nintendo Switch received the simple name Nintendo Switch 2. The announcement was accompanied by a two-minute video that showed the design of the console and its comparison with the previous generation model.
According to leaks, the Nintendo Switch 2 appears to be larger than the original Switch, and the Joy-Con controllers will be attached to the sides of the console using magnetic holders.
Nintendo Switch 2 will be compatible with digital and retail versions of Switch games, although some titles may not be fully or partially supported by the new device. Console exclusives have also been announced.
Nintendo Switch 2 will launch in 2025. A special Nintendo Direct is set for April 2nd. A series of events will be held in a number of American, European and Asian cities where visitors can try the console in person.
