Let us recall that the continuation of the first season of The Last of Us was confirmed even before its end (more than two years ago) and until recently was expected to debut during April of this year.

As it became known, the second season of the series The Last of Us will start on April 13 on the platform Max from HBO. The show will include only seven episodes (two less than the first season).

It’s worth noting that the second season will debut shortly after the PC version of The Last of Us Part II remaster. As part of The Game Awards 2024, it was revealed that the enhanced edition of the sequel will reach Steam and Epic Games Store on April 3.

The Last of Us season 2 picks up five years after the first season’s finale, with Joel and Ellie’s collective past catching up with them, drawing them into conflict with each other.

The announcement was accompanied by posters of the main characters (see image above): Joel, played by Pedro Pascal, Bella Ramsey as Ellie, and Abby, played by Kaitlyn Dever.

It was previously reported that the second season of the HBO series will not be a complete retelling of The Last of Us Part II. The story of Joel, Ellie and Abby will be stretched out over several (two or more) seasons of the show.
