The “holographic” 120mm Coolify Holo Fan was released, but journalists are not too happy with it

The standard option for making your computer’s cooling components a little more interesting is RGB lighting, but manufacturer Dynatron decided to up the ante and unveiled the world’s first “holographic” fan, the Coolify Holo Fan, at Computex 2024. Now journalists were able to meet him.

The Coolify Holo Fan is equipped with 11 transparent blades on which the image is projected, and rubber gaskets are installed around the screws to reduce fan noise.

According to experts who got acquainted with the new product, the image on this cooler is noticeably inferior to the advertising photographs – in particular, it is much less clear. Regardless of the source material, the image is output at a resolution of 300 × 49 DPI; The fan dimensions are 120 × 120 × 25 mm.

You can feed any image to the fan; it will need to be uploaded via Wi-Fi via the Coolify app. Static images are loaded freely, but working with GIF files is not fully supported. Eyewitnesses who have tested the new product also claim that form in the case of the Coolify Holo Fan somewhat prevails over substance – there are also fans that are more efficient in terms of performance.

It is also worth noting that in reality the cooler does not show three-dimensional images, although it is called holographic. It simply projects flat images onto its blades. Nevertheless, this effect looks clearly more interesting than conventional RGB lighting.
