The second season of the Halo series based on the series of sci-fi shooters from Microsoft ended back in March, but nothing has been heard about the continuation of the show all this time. Now it became clear why.

Representatives of the streaming service Paramount+, on whose platform the show was exclusively broadcast, in a statement to several foreign media outlets, including Deadline, clarified the fate of the Halo series – after two seasons they decided to cancel it.
«We are incredibly proud of this ambitious series and would like to thank our partners at Xbox, 343 Industries and Amblin Television […] and the entire cast […] for their outstanding work. We wish them all the best for the future,” says Paramount+.
343 Industries, the studio responsible for developing the Halo games, thanked Amblin and Paramount for their partnership, and also assured that they will continue to expand the Halo universe in various ways in the future.
According to Deadline and Variety, Amblin Television, Xbox and 343 Industries are currently looking for a new partner to continue the Halo series. The Hollywood Reporter adds that Paramount+ supports the idea.
Unlike the games, in the series Master Chief often appeared without armor
The Halo series told an original story set in the war between humans and the unstoppable alien alliance of the Covenant. The Spartan Master Chief was played by Pablo Schreiber, known from the show “American Gods.”
The first season of Halo debuted in March 2022 and received mixed reviews from both critics and fans of the series. It’s difficult to judge the show’s popularity, since Paramount+ didn’t share the numbers—apparently, there was nothing to brag about.
