The Google Pixel 9a smartphone will be larger than its predecessor, but will retain the price of $499

The upcoming Google Pixel 9a smartphone will be larger and more powerful than its predecessor from Google’s mid-price smartphone family, claims Android Headlines, citing several sources.

The Pixel 9a will have a 6.3-inch Actua display – the same size as the older Pixel 9 and Pixel 9 Pro, and larger than the Pixel 8a, which has a 6.1-inch diagonal screen. The display of the new budget model will also receive an adaptive refresh rate – it will be able to switch between 60 and 120 Hz modes. As you might expect, the Pixel 9a will boast a Google Tensor G4 processor; The amount of RAM will be 8 GB, the storage sizes will be 128 and 256 GB. The battery capacity will be 5000 mAh, while the Pixel 8a has 4492 mAh, although it has a smaller screen. Charging power will remain the same: 18 W for wired and 7.5 W for wireless.

On the back of the Pixel 9a there will be a 48-megapixel main camera and a 13-megapixel wide-angle camera; The front one will also receive a 13-megapixel sensor. The dimensions of the smartphone will be 154.7 × 73.3 × 8.9 mm versus 152.1 × 72.7 × 8.9 mm for its predecessor; at the same time, it will be lighter from 189 to 188. Pixel 9a, according to unofficial information, will go on sale in March 2025 – earlier than usual, which means that at the Google I/O event the company can do without presenting new devices. The price of the smartphone will remain the same – $499.
