The domestic OS “ROSA Mobile 2.0” was released with an improved Android emulator and new functions

«ROSA has announced an updated version of the mobile platform ROSA Mobile 2.0, which powers the R-FON smartphone. The system has an updated interface, new features, and increased stability.

The mechanism of the first launch of the device has been redesigned, the screen rotation has become faster, it is now possible to use the device as a wireless access point; USSD requests are now supported, the mechanism for synchronizing messages in the mail client has been updated. A mechanism for importing contacts from an Android smartphone has been implemented: two devices are connected via Bluetooth, contacts are transferred and installed on R-FON. The Android emulator has been improved: it is now possible to limit its resource consumption, notifications from Android applications are now supported in the ROSA Mobile 2.0 interface, it is possible to synchronize files between the main system space and the virtual environment.

The settings app now has an option to enable a Wi-Fi hotspot for sharing the Internet from your smartphone: you can select a network name, set a password, and set WPA/WPA2 encryption. When connecting to an existing Wi-Fi network, you can set a MAC address. The Android emulator now has access to navigation data; the GPS module works in the background for native ROSA Mobile 2.0 applications and Android software. The phone and contacts app now has a notification system for the absence of a SIM card, improved animation when importing contacts, new rules for displaying contacts, a blacklist, and optimized compatibility with the VCF format.

SMS processing and notifications in the messaging app have been improved; the mail client can now move messages to folders, preview images in attachments, synchronize Gmail folders, automatically check for message delivery, and optimize message output and filtering. The browser can now upload files to external resources — files are selected via the manager, gallery, or a photo from the camera. Notification output on the lock screen has been improved; a button for controlling the ROSA Emulator has appeared on the notification panel. Calendar, gallery, and camera management functions have been improved.

«R-FON was presented in December 2023. Drivers for its components are written by ROSA engineers, which eliminates undeclared capabilities of the device. ROSA Mobile 2.0 has a full set of work and multimedia applications, supports integration with domestic office suites, document management systems and analytical platforms.
