The creators of Black Myth: Wukong will surprise players before the end of the year – teaser from the head of Game Science

Co-founder and CEO of the Chinese studio Game Science, Feng Ji, hinted that some surprises await users of the acclaimed fantasy action role-playing game Black Myth: Wukong in the near future.

«If you haven’t played Black Myth: Wukong yet, then you’re in luck. Now you have another reason to try it,” Ji said in a pre-recorded video at the Golden Joystick Awards 2024 about the project’s Game of the Year award.

Ji also hinted at future content for the action game: “Of course, if you have already completed our game, that is also good. Stay tuned for some surprises before the end of the year.”

What exactly Ji is hinting at is unclear, but there are two main fan theories – either this is a delayed release of Black Myth: Wukong on Xbox, or the announcement of a story addition, which was previously confirmed by partner Game Science.

Since Ji addressed the surprise to players who had already completed Black Myth: Wukong, we can assume that we are talking about some additional content (for example, the mentioned add-on).

There is not much time left until the end of 2024. It is assumed that the announcement of the surprises mentioned by Ji may be made on December 13 at The Game Awards 2024. As part of the ceremony, Black Myth: Wukong is also vying for Game of the Year.

Black Myth: Wukong was released on August 20 on PC (Steam, EGS, WePlay) and PS5, but the version for Xbox Series X and S is delayed. Within a month of release, sales reached 20 million copies. The game is based on the Chinese novel Journey to the West.
