Sony also revealed how the platformer Astro Bot will use the main features of the DualSense. Similar to Astro’s Playroom, players will be able to use vibration to feel different surfaces. In Astro Bot their number has been increased.

The game’s developers have also doubled down on the use of adaptive triggers combined with haptic feedback, tying them closely into Astro’s new abilities. For example, when using a jetpack, players will be able to feel the engine hitting their finger in sync with the animation, “creating a very dynamic and immersive feeling.”

Pre-orders for the DualSense Astro Bot Limited Edition controller will begin on August 9. The controller will cost $79.99 / €79.99 / £69.99 / ¥11,980. The official release of the controller will take place on September 6, simultaneously with the release of Astro Bot for PS5.
